UK Sausage Week 2018

UK Sausage Week 2018 began on Monday 29th October with a celebratory lunch organised by Meat Management Magazine at the Plaisterers’ Hall in London. This annual event bestows the awards for the best sausages in the country. There were twenty seven winners of the various categories with five hundred different sausages entered into the competition. The certificates were presented by celebrity chef Sophie Grigson. Once again Handtmann sponsored the Awards for Best Independent Butcher in the South East region for both Traditional and Innovative Categories and Managing Director Anthony Daniels was present on stage with the winners. Patrick Strainge Butchers won the Traditional category with their Old Traditional Sausage and the Korean Tteokgalbi Sausage from J.C. Rook & Sons Ltd took first prize in the Innovative Category.
